Aisam-ul-Haq announces Davis Cup participation in Pakistan, reflecting on career highlights, supporting young players, and marking his final ATP Challenger Cup doubles match
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq has announced that he will play in the Davis Cup in Pakistan.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad after losing the doubles final of the ATP Challenger Cup, Aisam said he is delighted to represent Pakistan and thanked everyone for their support.
He reflected on his career highlights, noting that reaching the US Open final and defeating legend Roger Federer were his biggest achievements. Qureshi added that establishing a name in tennis in a cricket-dominated country was challenging.
He also expressed his commitment to promoting young players and bringing more international tournaments to Pakistan.
Aisam had announced his retirement prior to the start of the ATP Challenger series, and the doubles final of the ATP Challenger Cup marked his last international match.
