LAHORE (Dunya News) – A reception was held at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry in honour of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi and Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court Justice Aminuddin Khan.

The reception was hosted by Pakistan Bar Council Vice Chairman Peer Masood Chishti. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court Aminuddin Khan arrived at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry on the invitation of the Pakistan Bar Council vice chairman and received a warm welcome from the lawyers.

During the reception, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi gestured with folded hands and asked the lawyers not to applaud.

The event was attended by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Ayesha A. Malik and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Bar Council Vice Chairman Peer Masood Chishti apprised the chief justices of the issues being faced by lawyers. He thanked Chief Justice Yahya Afridi for keeping the Supreme Court Lahore Registry functional.

Peer Masood Chishti also requested the Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court to provide video-link facilities for the constitutional bench at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry.

Members of the Pakistan Bar Council, including Hafeez-ur-Rehman Chaudhry, Tahir Nasrullah Waraich and Saqib Akram Gondal, also attended the reception. Senior Advocate Mohsin Warak, Deputy Attorney General Raja Khurram Shehzad, Deputy Attorney General Sonia Jadoon and Assistant Attorney General Chaudhry Usman were also present.
