ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court on Friday returned a petition seeking the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to a hospital, raising objections on it.

The petition, which was filed by Khan’s legal team consisting of senior lawyers Sardar Latif Khosa and Naeem Panjotha, was objected to by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi.
The chief justice remarked that the petition had already been dismissed the previous day due to procedural objections.

During the hearing, CJP Afridi clarified that no new action could be taken on the request at this time, as it was not under consideration. "Your request remains pending until further notice, but there's nothing actionable at this point," he remarked.

Khosa argued that their plea was based on humanitarian grounds, emphasizing that it was not a political or legal matter.

He reminded the court that it had previously directed the authorities to ensure proper medical care for the PTI leader.

However, the chief justice corrected Khosa, stating that the court had not issued such an order, but rather the government had made a commitment to ensure Khan's treatment.
The chief Justice advised Khosa to meet with the court’s registrar for clarification on the objections.

He also noted that if there was no response, the matter could be brought back before the court.
