The Sindh government has introduced new fees for preferred vehicle registration numbers, with special plates costing up to Rs20 lacs under revised Excise rules.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – The Sindh government has fixed the fee for obtaining preferred vehicle registration numbers at up to Rs2 million.
The provincial Excise and Taxation Department has issued an official notification stating that vehicle owners wishing to acquire special or registration numbers of their choice can do so by paying the approved amount, with the maximum fee reaching Rs2 million.
According to the notification, those seeking registration numbers 786 and 110 will have to pay Rs20 lacs. The fee for three-digit numbers from 111 to 999 has been set at Rs1 million per number.
Similarly, owners applying for numbers ranging from 100 to 900 will be charged Rs500,000, while plates carrying numbers 001 to 009 will also cost Rs500,000.
All other choice registration numbers will be available for a fee of Rs300,000.
