PTI founder must be examined by his personal doctors: Sohail Afridi
Pakistan
CM Sohail Afridi said that if the medical reports are accurate, then why are his personal doctors and family being prevented from meeting PTI founder?
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, on Moday said that it is the constitutional right of PTI founder Imran Khan to receive treatment under the supervision of his personal doctors and in the presence of his family.
Speaking to journalists outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, Sohail Afridi said that despite the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, obstacles in the medical treatment of the PTI founder are raising serious questions.
Sohail Afridi said that the PTI founder is not an ordinary prisoner, he is a former prime minister and the leader of a major political party. Preventing his personal doctors and family from meeting him is further increasing suspicions.
The Chief Minister added that PTI workers have been holding peaceful protests for several days on their own. If an official call is given, no force will be able to stop the public.
Sohail Afridi said that not even a single flowerpot being broken is proof of PTI’s peaceful protest. The matter of the PTI founder’s health is above politics. If the medical reports are accurate, then why are his personal doctors and family being prevented from meeting him?
He further said that a peaceful sit-in is ongoing in front of Parliament House. PTI is an organised political party, not a mob. The authority to give a call rests only with the leadership nominated by the PTI founder.
