LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore has directed owners of rooftops designated for Basant celebrations to submit surety bonds to ensure strict compliance with safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The directive was issued during a meeting chaired by CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kaimkhani, which reviewed security and safety arrangements for the peaceful conduct of Basant in the city.

The CCPO stated that no overcrowding on rooftops will be allowed, and emphasized full enforcement of the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Act 2025. He also directed that, effective immediately, no motorcycle should be allowed on roads without safety rods.

To ensure effective monitoring during Basant, the CCPO ordered the formation of special police teams across the city.

He further warned that there would be zero tolerance for aerial firing and the display of weapons, stressing that strict and indiscriminate action would be taken against violators.

The Lahore police chief reiterated that all necessary measures were being put in place to ensure safe, orderly, and peaceful Basant celebrations in the provincial capital.
