ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has extended the closure of its airspace for Indian aircraft by another month, keeping the restriction in place amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.

The Pakistan Airports Authority, with government approval, issued a fresh NOTAM stating that Pakistani airspace will remain closed to Indian-registered aircraft until February 24, 2026.

According to the authority, all Indian commercial passenger planes, military aircraft and private jets will not be allowed to pass through Pakistan’s airspace during this period.

Pakistan first shut its airspace to Indian aircraft on April 23, 2025. Since then, Indian airlines have reportedly faced heavy financial losses, running into billions of rupees, due to longer routes and higher operating costs.

Officials said the decision reflects the current strained relations between the two neighbours and will continue to apply to all commercial and private Indian flights.
