RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) - Police stopped the sisters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder on Tuesday at the Factory Checkpost as they were travelling to meet their brother, prompting Aleema Khan to stage a sit-in along with party workers at the site.

Despite police barricades, several PTI workers gathered at the location and raised slogans against the government.

Addressing supporters, Aleema Khan urged them to remain peaceful, saying, “We have no fight with the police. They are our brothers. They are also under pressure and are treating us well.” She said supporters were being pushed back because women were also present at the protest.

She alleged that the PTI founder had been denied family meetings for a long time, calling it “mental torture.” She said the family had been visiting for over a month to seek permission for a meeting. Aleema Khan claimed that in the previous meeting, no political discussion had taken place and that talking about the behaviour of government officials was not political.

She questioned how her brother was a threat to national security and demanded an explanation for his alleged solitary confinement, asking under whose orders he was being held.

During a media interaction, Aleema Khan also warned journalists to be cautious in their questions, saying she would refuse to speak if inappropriate questions were asked.

As more party workers arrived, the situation intensified and Aleema Khan formally began a sit-in at the checkpost, while sloganeering continued.
