ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has asserted that terrorists cannot impose their system on the nation, emphasizing that the people of Balochistan are always standing with the armed forces.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, CM Bugti highlighted that nearly 100 terrorists surrendered in Dera Bugti recently, calling it a welcome sign that those returning from the mountains are choosing peace. “The state and its flag are paramount; personal issues must be set aside for the country,” he said.

He provided alarming statistics, noting that over the past year, 900 incidents of terrorism occurred in Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of 205 security personnel, six officers, and 280 civilians. The CM praised the bravery of Balochistan’s officers who sacrificed their lives and stated that the armed forces successfully neutralized 760 terrorists, including significant engagements along the Afghan border.

CM Bugti criticized violations of the Doha Agreement by the Afghan caretaker government, emphasizing that the region cannot be used against Pakistan. He stressed that violence cannot achieve objectives and lauded the strategic success of the military in curbing insurgent threats.

He also urged political parties to avoid narratives that weaken the state, reminding that leadership and popularity should never come at the cost of national security. “Every day, officers and soldiers lay down their lives for Pakistan. The state must always take precedence over politics,” he added.

The Chief Minister concluded by extending an open hand to those willing to surrender and warned that the state’s patience should not be misinterpreted as weakness. He also advised other provincial leaders to focus on governance and development rather than confrontations with the armed forces.
