Punjab cracks down on illegal foreign residents, offers cash rewards for tip-offs

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said on Wednesday that the operation against illegally residing Afghan and other foreign nationals in the province is underway.
In her statement, the provincial minister said that those who provide information about illegally residing Afghans will receive cash rewards. Within three weeks, 6,220 Afghans have been sent back to their country.
She added that, under the whistleblower mechanism, many citizens have provided accurate information to the government. The identities of those providing information will be kept confidential. The operation to repatriate illegally residing Afghan citizens from the province is continuing successfully.
