LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) - The Counter Crime Department (CCD) police took a 5-year-old girl along while arresting two suspects accused of theft and robbery, it has been learnt.

The child’s grandmother filed a petition in the Lahore High Court for her recovery. Justice Asjad Javed Gharal heard the case, where Advocate Syeda Shahida Arshad represented the petitioner.

The counsel argued that CCD police arrested two brothers from their home and took along the minor girl, Tahreem, whose whereabouts remained unknown since the raid. The petitioner requested the court to order their recovery.

During the hearing, the state counsel submitted a report, and the CCD presented the 5-year-old Tahreem before the court. The prosecutor informed that police had arrested Qasim and Fakhar Abbas on October 10, 2025. Qasim was later killed in an encounter on November 6, while Fakhar Abbas was hospitalized in injured condition.

The court ordered ensuring protection for the injured Fakhar Abbas and directed that the minor girl be handed over to her relatives, subsequently disposing of the petition.
