LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Colleges Literary Society on Saturday organised an Iqbal Day ceremony at Gulberg Campus to pay tribute to the Thinker of Pakistan.
The purpose of organising the event on Iqbal Day by the Punjab Colleges Literary Society was to highlight Iqbal's teachings and ideas so that the youth could follow them.
At the event, students paid tribute to the national poet and presented songs, speeches and dialogues based on Iqbal's words.
On the occasion of Iqbal Day, a special drama was also presented, in which Iqbal's message of self-concept and character building was beautifully highlighted.
Chairperson Student Affairs Halima Sadia said that today's young generation is the embodiment of Iqbal's dream of independence.
It is our responsibility to keep the thoughts and principles of our leaders alive, she added.
Poet Rabia Rehman and calligrapher Abdul Hanan said that the youth are Iqbal's falcons and they are also the real strength of the nation.
“Iqbal gave the youth a message of high courage and struggle, which takes time to understand. Undoubtedly, Allama Muhammad Iqbal taught the youth to recognise their own identity and capabilities so that they can become the masters of their own destiny,” he said.
