MULTAN (Dunya News) – Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani has urged the nation not to turn a blind eye to the plight of flood victims while celebrating the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Speaking at a ceremony in Multan, Gilani recalled that during his tenure as prime minister, he always gave priority to the rights of women and minorities. He said a resolution was also passed to celebrate the Prophet’s birthday in a befitting manner.

Gilani stressed that Islam spreads the message of love, peace, and brotherhood, adding that it was the need of the hour to remember flood-hit families. He appealed to philanthropists to open their hearts and lend a helping hand to those in need.

The Senate chairman further said the next 24 hours are extremely crucial for Multan and Muzaffargarh, while calling on everyone to join hands for the country’s development and prosperity.
