DG Khan Police foil terrorism plot by Fitna al-Khawarij

DERA GHAZI KHAN (Dunya News) - Punjab Police in Dera Ghazi Khan achieved a major success by thwarting a terrorist plot by Fitna al-Khawarij.

Dera Ghazi Khan Police, along with the Special Operations Unit and Elite teams, conducted a search operation in the border area and foiling the sinister plan of terrorists.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered near Jade Wali graveyard during the search operation, which was neutralised by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

The IED, planted by Khawarij terrorists, was planted to target security forces, but timely action prevented a major tragedy in the area.

The spokesperson stated that during the search operation, police and forces cordoned off the area, ensuring complete security.

The operation at the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border was closely monitored by RPO Captain (Retd) Sajjad Hassan Khan and DPO Dera Ghazi Khan.

IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar commended the Dera Ghazi Khan Police for foiling the terror plot. The DPO Dera Ghazi Khan stated that search operations in tribal and sensitive areas by police and forces were underway.
