LAHORE (Dunya News) – On the call of the Punjab Bar Council, a partial strike by lawyers is ongoing in lower courts, protesting against cases registered against lawyers.

Due to the strike, court proceedings in various cases are being postponed without hearings. The Punjab Bar Council has demanded the immediate withdrawal of FIRs registered against lawyers across different cities of Punjab.

In response to the council’s call, there is a complete strike in the High Court and subordinate courts today. Lawyers are not appearing in court as a form of protest, and duty additional session judges and civil judges have started rescheduling hearings without conducting proceedings.

President of the Bar, Manzar Bashir, warned that if the Punjab IG does not withdraw the cases, the protest will intensify. Bar Secretary Asad Malik stated, “We will protect the black coat and will not be afraid of any cases.”
