NEW YORK (Dunya News) - Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to advance investments and technical collaboration for mutual benefit of the two nations.

This agreement was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Fadhil Al-Ibrahim, on the sidelines of high-level events during Pakistan’s Presidency of the UN Security Council.

They reaffirmed the fraternal ties between Pakistan and KSA, and their shared vision for lasting peace, inclusive prosperity, and regional harmony.

Discussions focused on expanding cooperation across key sectors, including food security, manufacturing, and mines & minerals.

Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar has emphasised that peaceful resolution of conflicts is only possible through dialogue and adherence to international law.

He stated that Pakistan remains committed to the principles of peaceful dispute resolution as outlined in the United Nations Charter.

At a reception hosted by Pakistan’s Mission in New York, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan has chosen three key priorities for its presidency of the UN Security Council: peaceful resolution of conflicts, promotion of multilateral cooperation, and strengthening collaboration between the UN and regional organizations such as the OIC.

He noted that Pakistan is honoured to hold the presidency of the Security Council this month.

Pakistan’s foreign policy, he added, is rooted in mutual respect, shared interests, and cooperative engagement, all aligned with the principles of the UN Charter.

He pointed out that long-standing disputes exist in nearly every region, often accompanied by unilateral interests and violations of international law.
