ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the 8th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) being held in Riyadh from Oct 29 to 30.

The prime minister will be accompanied by key cabinet ministers, the Foreign Office said in a statement.

The Future Investment Initiative (FII) serves as an important platform for countries to showcase their economic strength, draw foreign investments, and engage in dialogue to shape a sustainable future.

This year’s FII is themed “Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow” and will focus on global investments aimed at addressing major issues such as artificial intelligence, robotics, education, energy, space, finance, healthcare, and sustainability.

The prime minister is also expected to engage with participating leaders and entrepreneurs at the conference.

Back in May, the premier attended an event “The Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development” organised by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Riyadh.

During his stay he also gave an interview to a local media outlet and praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for transforming Saudi Arabia's landscape and described his policies as an inspiration for the entire world.

His comments were a reference to the Vision 2030 – a set of long-term goals set by the crown prince for ending Saudi Arabia’s dependence on fossil fuels by pursuing economic diversification to make the kingdom an global hub by promoting manufacturing, tourism and entertainment while also introducing necessary social changes.
