PTI to challenge 26th constitutional amendment in court

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday decided to challenge the 26th constitutional amendment in the court.
The decision was taken during the PTI’s core committee meeting chaired by Barrister Gohar on Wednesday to discuss the current political scenario. The committee showed its reservations over ignoring the principle of seniority while appointing the new chief justice of Pakistan.
“We’ll challenge it in the court while a massive protest movement would also be launched against it,” said Barrister Gohar.
The core committee also demanded the removal of ban to hold meetings with PTI founder in Adiala Jail.
It was also decided that a rigorous movement would also be launched for the release of Imran Khan.

The core committee also demanded immediate release of Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Azam Swati and Advocate Intizar Hussain.
The 26th amendment was passed from the incomplete houses through horse-trading and by using force against our MPs, said the core committee.
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had said that the PTI would launch countrywide protests against the amendment.
“The unconstitutional amendment was passed by an assembly which came to power through Form-47,” said CM Gandapur.
