Culprits involved in the matter would be identified in the investigation
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Home Department has formed a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the matter of propagating fake news related to harassment of private college female student.
SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed would lead a six-member JIT.
The JIT constituted three police officers and three representatives of intelligence agencies.
The team would investigate the case registered in the Defence A police station.
The main culprits behind the violence incitement against the state would be identified in the investigation.
The perpetrators involved in dishonor and maligning the female student on social media will be traced.
SSP Muhammad Naveed had summoned the first session of JIT today.
Earlier, today Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelum directed formation of a team headed by FIA DG to provbe the matter.
CJ Neelum also orderd for a full bench to hear the case related to fake news and harassment cases in educational institutions.
