Constitutional amendment: Consensus on the cards as Nawaz hosts political bigwigs in Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) - PML-N President Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday hosted a dinner for the allies that was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The dinner was hosted by the elder Sharif at his residence in Jati Umrah.
It is likely that consensus will be reached between PML-N, PPP and JUI-F on the proposed constitutional amendment.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Attorney General were also present in the meeting.
According to sources, Maulana Fazlur Rehman talked about his reservations on the amendment.
Both Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif assured him of addressing his reservations.

Meanwhile, a strategy was also devised to pass the amendment from both the houses.
The sources said that all the three parties agreed on the shared draft of constitutional amendment.
The ruling coalition is planning to move the amendment in the house on October 18.
