May 9 cases: ATC seeks arguments from prosecution on Imran Khan's bail plea

LAHORE (Dunya News) – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Monday sought arguments from prosecution on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s petition for bail.

Judge Arshad Javed of ATC Lahore, heard four applications of  Khan for bail in May 9 cases.

The special prosecutor sought adjournment to get time for arguments. The court asked prosecutor to present arguments in the next hearing, and adjourned the hearing on bail pleas of Khan till Sept 30.

It should be noted that Khan’s lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar had completed arguments on four petitions of bail.

Four bail pleas of founder of PTI including burning the office of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) are sub judice.

The PTI founder had filed bail pleas in the cases of burning the PML-N office, burning container in Kalma Chowk and in front of Gulberg National Park.

Khan had submitted the petitions of bail after arrest in 12 cases.
The bail petitions in other 8 cases are pending in admin court of the ATC while the judge of ATC admin court had been transferred.

The bail pleas in eight other cases including Jinnah House and Askari tower, attack cases were pending in court number one.
