PTI leader made decision after LHC suspended decision of protective bail
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a latest development, former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Tuesday decided to approach the apex court for bail.
The PTI leader made this decision after the Lahore High Court suspended the decision of protective bail.
Earlier, Mr Elahi challenged the Punjab government’s detention order in the LHC.
In the application, the position was adopted that the single bench of the LHC had granted the security bond which was challenged by the Punjab government and on the appeal of the Provincial government, the division bench had suspended the decision.
It was further added in the petition that Mr Elahi was being targeted for political revenge and pressure was being put on the former Punjab CM on political grounds while appealing that the court should declare the order of the division bench of the Lahore High Court null and void.
