Those who stay with or leave PTI have no influence on its vote bank, says Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar on Monday said that staying with or leaving the party does not make any difference to its vote bank.

Speaking to media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Mr Umar said, " You know that the PTI's vote belongs to Imran Khan".

Earlier today, an anti-terrorism court in the federal capital reserved its verdict on a bail petition filed by former planning minister Asad Umar in the judicial complex attack case.

The ATC judge will issue the verdict tomorrow (Tuesday). During today’s hearing, Mr Umar’s lawyer said his client had not gone to the judicial complex on that day as he was attending the hearing in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

At one point, the judge inquired Prosecutor Adnan Ali if there was any case in which the terrorist had come without weapons. “It is first case in which terrorist has come empty handed,” he remarked.

The prosecutor replied attempts had been made to create instability by attacking the judicial complex in Islamabad.

"The prosecution has reduced the stature of terrorists," quipped Asad Umar’s lawyer Ali Zafar in reply to the prosecutor’s remarks.

On the other hand, a district and sessions court in the federal capital has extended interim bail of the former aide of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the case registered against him at the Tarnol police station. The court has adjourned the case till June 5.
