PTI top brass meeting underway to discuss resignations
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership on Monday gathered at Zaman Park to discuss PTI Chief Imran Khan’s announcement to quit all assemblies
.
PTI held a meeting under the chairmanship of Imran Khan. Leaders from Punjab, Sindh, and KPK – Asad Umar, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Mahmood Khan, Shafqat Mahmood, Taimur Khan Jhagra, Ali Amin Gandapur, Advocate Ali Zafar, Babar Awaz, Jamshed Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhary, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Usman Buzdar, and Speaker Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan – were also present.
Earlier on Saturday, Addressing the participants of the long march, the former premier [Imran] said that after consulting with the parliamentary party, the date of the ‘exiting’ from the assemblies will be decided as – according to him – he has talked with his Chief Ministers in this regard. He added that the PTI could no longer be a part of the corrupt system.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Atif Khan, Umer Ayub, Senior Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed, secretary Information Farrukh Habib, Qasim Suri and other leaders from the party were also a part of the meeting.
Babar Awan and Ali Zafar briefed the meeting attendees about the constitution and legal matters. To resign from the assemblies, they enlightened the members with constitutional phases, and further options were discussed against the coalition government
