Business plan presented to Finance Ministry to make PIA profitable

A five-year business plan on Tuesday has been presented to Finance Ministry to make PIA profitable

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A five-year business plan on Tuesday has been presented to Finance Ministry to make Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) a profitable entity by avoiding losses in the future.

The plan suggested to focus on increasing the aircrafts from 29 to 49 comprising on 16 large planes, 27 medium and 6 turbo propeller modern aircrafts. This will eventually raise the number of passengers from 52 lac to 90 lac annually as well as cargo and commercial activities which will generate more profit.

By 2026, the PIA’s assets will increase from 1.19 billion dollars to 2.18 billion dollars, the plan predicted.

It further mentioned full implementation on PIA’s financial restructuring policy 2019 is mandatory.

The business plan also suggested that PIA should fly more flights to United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf as these are the most beneficial routes. In addition to this, new routes to Baku, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Kuwait, Tehran, and Singapore should also be opened, the plan recommended.
