Asad Umar said that we have achieved another major milestone in the vaccination campaign

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and Chairman National Command Operation Center (NCOC) Asad Umar said that we have achieved another major milestone in the vaccination campaign yesterday.

In a tweet, he said,”Crossing 100 million people who have received at least one dose out of these nearly 75 million are fully vaccinated”.

The minister further wrote this does not mean that our work has been completed yet. We need to keep the momentum going, he expressed.

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 2 more deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,307,174. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,974 on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,467 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

488,608 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 448,479 in Punjab, 181,790 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 109,495 in Islamabad, 34,708 in Azad Kashmir, 33,661 in Balochistan and 10,433 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 23,891,112 coronavirus tests and 43,540 in the last 24 hours. 1,259,253 patients have recovered in the country whereas 615 patients are in critical condition.

The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 3.33 percent.

So far, 99,454,273 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 310,114 in last 24 hours. 73,862,234 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 377,912 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 162,115,885 with 706,192 in the last 24 hours.
