Omicron variant confirmed in 11 members of a family in Karachi

Sindh Health Department has confirmed that 44 cases of Omicron have been detected in Karachi so far.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Omicron variant of coronavirus was confirmed in 11 members of the same family residing in District East of Karachi on Thursday, Dunya News reported.

According to the Sindh Health Department, symptoms of Omicron variant were found in eight women and three men of the same family, aged between 26 years to 70 years, in District East of Karachi.

Sources in Sindh Health Department have confirmed that 44 cases of Omicron variant have been detected in Karachi so far.

Earlier on Tuesday, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) had confirmed 75 cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus in Pakistan. According to the NIH, 17 cases were reported in Islamabad, 33 in Karachi and 13 in Lahore and 12 cases of omicron were detected in people coming from abroad.
