Pak Army to continue assisting govt in fighting against COVID-19: COAS

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday reiterated Pakistan Army s commitment to continue assisting other institutions in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS visited Kohat. He reached the CMH where he reviewed the arrangements at the corona center.
Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Noman Mahmood welcomed Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa. The army chief visited Yadgar-e-Shuhahada, who laid down their lives in defense of the motherland, and laid floral wreath.
He interacted with troops busy in relief efforts against COVID-19 and urged them to reach out to people particularly those affected by the pandemic for bringing comfort in this hour of distress.
Upon arrival, General Qamar Javed Bajwa was given detailed briefing on operational preparedness, prevailing security situation including border security measures along Pak- Afghan border, and update on army s assistance against COVID-19 in the area.
