ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met representatives of the firms that successfully won the bidding for two new teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to details, the delegation included Hamza Majid of OZ Developers, which secured the Sialkot franchise, and Fawad Sarwar of FKS Group, which won the Hyderabad team. The prime minister congratulated both representatives and extended his best wishes for their future success.

The prime minister also lauded Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the PCB management for conducting a successful and transparent bidding process. He said the live telecast of the bidding was clear proof of transparency.

Shehbaz Sharif said the inclusion of two new teams would help promote cricket at the grassroots level and provide opportunities for new talent to emerge. He remarked that the new franchises would prove to be a breath of fresh air for the Pakistan Super League.

The prime minister said it was encouraging that international firms participated in the bidding process, adding that it helped boost foreign investment in Pakistan. He noted that overseas Pakistanis have always played an important role in the country’s development.

He further said that the strong interest shown by both local and international firms in the bidding process reflected the growing international popularity of the PSL.

Federal Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, along with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, were also present during the meeting.
