ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has selected F-9 Park as the site for the construction of a new cricket stadium.

According to sources, former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has been engaged to provide expert input on the stadium’s design and technical aspects. Latif previously played a key role in the development of the Islamabad Club.

In light of a Supreme Court ruling on green areas, legal considerations will be addressed, with proposals to retain most of the stadium area as green space. The plan includes incorporating green sections within certain enclosures, similar to stadiums in South Africa and the West Indies.

CDA may also approach the Supreme Court for clearance of the project. Earlier, the apex court had halted the construction of a cricket stadium in Shakarparian.
