LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan on Wednesday rubbished the rumours of rift within the team, saying: “We are united under [Pakistan] flag”.
He shared a post on social media platform X, featuring lyrics of a patriotic song and a group photo of the national cricket players.
The post comes after rumours that Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi had an heated exchange in the dressing room post the loss to Sri Lanka in Super Four match of Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo last week. The reports further sparked rumours of change of captaincy ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup.
Mohammad Rizwan wrote, "Is Parcham k saaye talay, Hum aik hain. Hum aik hain. Saanjhi apni khushyaan, Aur gham aik hain Hum aik hain," quashing rumours of tussle within the team.

Earlier, Shaheen Shah Afridi, who recently tied the knot with Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha, put the rumours of rift to rest with one-word post on social media.
The left-arm pacer shared a photo of himself with Babar Azam and captioned it as “family” with an heart emoji.

The reaction from the players proves the report of a conflict among the player are just rumours, which could be an attempt to shake the morale of the national team ahead of the World Cup 2023, which is set to begin on Oct 5.
