The State Bank of Pakistan has granted Sindh Microfinance Bank a nationwide license, allowing it to expand services countrywide and improve financial access for small businesses and low-income groups.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a nationwide microfinance banking license to Sindh Microfinance Bank Limited, enabling the bank to offer microfinance services across Pakistan from February 10, 2026.
The move is part of broader efforts to strengthen financial stability and widen access to banking services for small entrepreneurs and low-income segments. With the new license, Sindh Microfinance Bank can now extend its operations beyond provincial boundaries.
Financial experts say the decision will boost financial inclusion and help underserved communities gain easier access to credit and basic banking facilities. They believe expanded microfinance services can act as a lifeline for small traders and self-employed individuals.
The bank’s nationwide operations are expected to support entrepreneurship, create economic opportunities, and contribute to sustainable economic growth across different regions of the country.
