Budget 2024-25: Opposition tears budget documents in protest

Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto, Akhtar Mengal and Maulana Fazl stayed away
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The opposition members protested in the National Assembly (NA) during the budget speech of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and raised slogans ‘Go Nawaz Go’.
The opposition members surrounded the speaker’s dais.
They threw copies of the budget speech. Sunni Ittehad Council parliamentary leader Zartaj Gul recorded the protest and Jamshed Dasti also raised slogans.
“Go Shehbaz Go’ slogan was also raised by the opposition while Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Hanif Abbasi and Malik Sohail surrounded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
On the other hand, key politicians including former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto, BNP-Mengal chief Akhtar Mengal and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman were absent during the budget session.
